While a person experiences a variety of emotions, when first diagnosed that he/she has cancer or a blood disorder/disease, the primary concern is survival.  Almost always, the uncertainty of not knowing what will happen, and the sense of powerlessness, is most troubling to someone facing a cancer diagnosis. It is best to educate yourself and your loved ones about issues surrounding your survival, in order to live a full and productive life.
